In the track, “Quinceañera” the percussion is brilliant. Listeners get a groovy indie rock drum beat, with a gentle guiro panned right and a cowbell pattern panned left infusing some traditional grooves to a more modern indie pop sound. (Side note, listen to track one off this album, “Mi Primer Amor” to hear how this band infuses trap percussion sounds into the mix!)
The groove in “Quinceañera” is accompanied by a unique guitar riff with light tremolo, and later in the song by a tasty guitar solo. The female vocals are well-performed and clearly articulated. This band definitely has high musicianship!
I know that this album will be in my regular listening mix. It’s refreshing to hear such a creative blend of styles and give my ears a break of the “same ol’ same ol'” in the highly electronic music of today’s current pop songs.
